Trails Committee hike

The Trails Committee offers a hike on May 29 to some of Big Canoe’s prettiest trails.

This year’s hike in Nature Valley will have something for everyone. All are welcome. We will meet at the Wellness Center at 9 a.m. and hike via the Wildflower Trail (easy) to the Lake Trail (moderate) to the Jeep Trail parking lot on Wilderness for a total approximately 1.1 miles. At 9:30 a.m., we will depart from the Jeep Trail parking lot and hike via the Lower Falls Trail (moderate) and the Cabin Loop Trail (easy) then via the Upper Falls Trail (moderate) to where the Nancy Womack Trail crosses Valley View, approximately 2 miles. At 10:30 a.m., we will depart the parking lot on Valley View for the hike to the top of Nancy Womack Trail (hard to very hard), a total of approximately 1.6 miles.

From beginning to end, this hike will be 4.6 miles and will traverse some of the best trails and prettiest scenes in Big Canoe. Estimated total time to hike to the top of Big Canoe and back is four to five hours. Hikers are welcome leave a car at one of the four parking lots along the way and hike only as far as desired.

The Trails Committee is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to the upkeep, maintenance and expansion of the trails and parks of Big Canoe. For more information on our 20-plus miles of trails, please go to:
