The Bowen Center for the Arts will display an extraordinary exhibition of aircraft beginning Jan. 14 and running through Feb. 19. The builders/craftsmen of the North Georgia Model Aviators club have grounded a fleet of 30 aircraft to display “The Art of Building & Flying RC Airplanes.”
Incredibly detailed radio-controlled airplanes are hanging from the rafters, walls and on tables along with historical information and details. Learning presentations will be scheduled during this exhibit to highlight the art of building and flying as well as resources for this “hobby.” Also, informal chats from notable test pilots and Vietnam veteran pilots will be on hand to tell their historical tales and adventures. Various memorabilia and art are also on display.
Tour the historical Bowen, now it its 20th year, with its 1930’s architecture that highlights all the beautiful displays. Safely view this wide-open exhibit in person at the Bowen during the hours of Thursday through Saturday 11a.m. to 3 p.m. The Bowen adheres to Georgia state safety guidelines so masks are required. For private tours, please let us know and we will accommodate your wishes.
