Randy Lewis was not the first Big Canoe photographer to use a remote-controlled drone to carry his camera up where could get a bird’s eye view of things. But in the hands of an artist, these tools bring a new perspective to image-making. Lewis launched his DJI Mavic Mini 2 drone around sunrise on a foggy morning along the Choctaw golf course. “I thought photographing fog with the drone would be very cool,” he said. His image is magnificently mysterious and certainly dramatic.
