Booth Western Art Museum wins USA Today “best art museum,” 10 best readers’ choice award

The results—announced February 28 by USA Today 10 Best Readers’ Choice—ranked Booth Western Art Museum number one in the Best Art Museum category. Booth Museum was nominated alongside such prestigious museums as the Metropolitan Museum in New York City, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Chicago Art Institute and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.

An affiliate of the Smithsonian Institute, Booth Western Art Museum is a 120,000 square foot museum located in Cartersville, Georgia. Visitors are invited to see America’s story through contemporary Western artwork, a Presidential Gallery, Civil War art gallery and Sagebrush Ranch-an interactive children’s gallery. Open since August 2003, Booth Museum is the only museum of its kind in the Southeast and was named the 2016 Escape to the Southeast Travel Attraction of the Year by the Southeast Tourism Society.

Nominees for “Readers Choice” categories are chosen by a panel of relevant experts who include a combination of editors from USA TODAY; editors from; relevant expert contributors; and sources for both these media and other Gannett properties.
